Theatre – ACSCobham

We installed smoke ventilators and controls through competitive tender and prior experience in the UK and UAE.

Project Description

A new theatre at the American Community School required smoke ventilation over the stage to be provided in accordance with British Standard 9999: 2008. Smoke Control Systems (SCS) provided and installed the smoke ventilators and controls required by virtue of competitive tender and previous experience of similar projects in the UK and United Arab Emirates. Ventilators were double-flap type units with acoustic insulation to prevent noise intrusion to the theatre space during sensitive productions. A feature of post-order design was satisfactory positioning of ventilators. On a small roof area it was very important that ventilators did not compromise roof rain drainage nor that the free area of ventilation be reduced by the mass of scenery moving equipment installed at high level in the fly tower.
